The TOTSHOTS Program Description:

The TotShots Program is a first step program designed for the little people, Boys & Girls ages 3 & 4 (children must be 3 years of age before the end of the playing season and must still be 4 years of age at the end of the playing season)

TOT SHOTS is an eight week program.  Each player will be provided with Shirt, Shorts, and Socks.   Indoor soccer shoes or a flat soled running shoe (for indoor programs) and a soccer cleat (for outdoor programs)   ***Shin guards*** are mandatory for all players  --  Participants will not be allowed to play without shin guards.

This program was designed with the littles ones in mind.  It is an introductory program which incorporates basic skills, fitness, game dynamics and FUN!  It's about putting on a uniform and participating with their peers.

We have divided the program into two parts:  25 minutes of skills then a water break followed by 25 minutes of game time.

The TOT SHOTS program begins with a four corner team warm up directed by our enthusiastic and energetic trained program Referees.  They will learn who the Referee is and what his/her job is.  They will learn what to do when the referee blows his/her whistle and who to look to for instruction and help.   Children will then perform basic warm up and fitness skills followed by stretching to get their little muscles warm and ready to play.  Through fun games and drills, they will be taught the fundamental motor skills of basic dribbling and ball control along with other basic skills like throw ins, shooting, passing and goalie skills.

Small sided games will be played on age appropriate sized fields to allow for children to get ample touch on the ball while playing in a refereed game.  The Referees will teach the rules of the game while the children play.  Emphasis will be placed on active participation and good sportsmanship.

It is important to know that all children are different and some take longer than others to fully participate in the program.  Each week if your child participates more and more it is a huge accomplishment.  For those children who may need more encouragement we recommend that the parent participate with them during the warm up session.  Each week we will try to lessen the parent involvement until the child becomes confident enough to participate on their own or with another volunteer.

The TOT SHOTS Program is a great way to involve your youngster in a team sport and physical activity.

Although the Totshots program is essentially run and taught by our trained staff & referees, we still require volunteer coaches to help out with the organization of the kids during the warm up and games and to give the program TEAM spirit and structure.  The role of the coach in the Totshots program is to encourage, help keep the children listening, focused and organized during the warm up and organize the bench, line switches & cheering during the game.

To keep the cost of soccer affordable for all, we rely on Parent Volunteer Coaches, Assistants and Helpers.  If you would like to take this wonderful opportunity to participate with your child in a memorable experience, sign up to coach, assist or help out on your child's team.

With our structured Totshots program, trained referees and supervisory staff, we will always be there to assist you.  No experience is necessary!  Just the will to have fun, be encouraging and have a whole lot of enthusiasm.  We will support you all the way and help you become a good knowledgeable coach.    We will show you how to organize and train your team in a friendly fun environment.  This program is for learning, not just for players, but for coaches too!  It's all about the basics and developing a structured foundation for success.

Week by week skill development is online and a pre-season coaching clinic is provided to help coaches get started and provide you with the structured program activities that will be introduced each week.

We only choose those who have volunteered to help out, however, sometimes a coach who initially volunteered is unable to fulfill their commitment to coach the team.   This may be due to changes in their personal life or their work schedule. It is then up to the parents of the players on the team to step up and help out. Two or three parents, working together, results in a successful season for all the kids and often a fun and rewarding experience for themselves. Teamwork is what we want to promote and instill in our children and it starts with all parents being helpful and supportive.

Remember, it is not necessary to have a strong soccer background to coach recreational house league teams. The best coaches are those who want to learn, are encouraging, put the kids first and understand that the children sign up to participate and have fun.

Zero Tolerance Policy: Harassment of referee, coaches, players and staff will not be tolerated by anyone.  All of our referees are trained and for some this will be their first season; they are also learning so be patient.  If continual problems persist please report it to the Field Manager, Referee Supervisor or send an email to with your concerns.  Under no circumstance should you approach the referees, coaches or players yourself.   Reports of such incidents may be cause for expulsion from the League, the Club and its facilities.  In such cases No refunds will be granted.

Refund Policy:  All Registrations are non-refundable - Club Credit ONLY

Please Note:  In the best interest of the League, OPSL/ “Organization” executive reserves the right to transfer players to other teams after the start of the season and up until the third game of the season in order to balance teams and make fun and fair play for all.  If this should happen, we would appreciate your cooperation.

It is important to remember that House League is recreational soccer and we are all here to have fun, teach good sportsmanship, soccer skills and team spirit. Losing is often a part of life and how we, as parents, choose to handle the experience will reflect on our children, so please, let's teach our children good life lessons.
